The Queen of Soul!
Here at My Weekly, we’re all thinking of Aretha Franklin who sadly died yesterday at the age of 76 after her long and private battle with pancreatic cancer. The Queen of Soul was more than just a set powerhouse vocals, she was a force to be reckoned with.
Crossing racial and gender barriers throughout her life and career, Aretha Franklin was a symbol of strength and defiance in both the civil rights and women’s rights movements in America and ultimately across the globe.
With a range of timeless hits from Respect to I Say a Little Prayer, Aretha Franklin will certainly be empowering many generations to come!
