Have we just received some foreshadowing on a yet to be granted ‘power’ that could ‘turn the entire game on its head’? The Traitors season 3 finale might end up being the most gripping yet!

The nation’s favourite murder mystery party, The Traitors, is the ultimate game of nerve. Every season is filled with plentiful backstabbing and deception as the show’s  Faithfuls must suss out The Traitors among them in order to snag a cash prize before the game is up.

Season 3 has had everyone on the edge of their seats… and occasionally screaming at the TV. There’s been no shortage of drama!

From Linda’s theatrical crocodile tears and Charlotte’s fake Welsh accent to “Traitor hunter” Jack and masterful Traitor strategist Minah, we’ve had lots to discuss.

However, many viewers have expressed that they feel something isn’t quite working this season. Some people believe that the show may even be flagging.

The Traitors Season 3 Finale Twist

Claudia to the rescue! In a ‘coming soon’ preview at the end of the most recent episode (episode 9), the host explained “a major twist” was just around the corner.

She revealed: “One of you will win an extraordinary power that could turn the entire game on its head.’”

Fans have been furiously speculating about what this power would entail. While rewatching episode 9, the eagle-eyed among us think they’ve spotted some potential hints as to what this ‘extraordinary power may be.

One fan theory focuses on a book that the camera lingers on for a suspicious amount of time. The book was titled “The Seer”. Could this be in connection with the game The Werewolf?

Werewolf is a social deduction game also widely known as Mafia. Within the game there is conflict between two opposing sides, the werewolves and the villagers… sound familiar?

The game consists of two phases.

First phase: the killers who were assigned at the beginning murder whoever they want. Second phase: the surviving players must work together to figure out who’s the murderer, voting for the suspects.

If ‘The Seer’ reference is worth noting, could the power granted to one player be the ability to find out who the Traitors are… and then somehow convince the other Faithfuls of their findings?

This theory is the most logical, while there are other ideas floating around the internet such as could one player be granted the ability to resurrect a murdered Faithful?

I guess we’ll soon find out!

The Traitors returns this week for its season finale. Watch live on BBC Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9pm or catch up on BBC iPlayer.
