The Traitors UK will film first ever celebrity version after season 3 airs next year.

Fans of the hit BBC competition The Traitors will be delighted to hear that has been commissioned for a fourth series as well as a nine-part celebrity version.

This murder-mystery gameshow based on the Dutch programme, De Verraders, sees several contestants nominated as traitors whose objective is to kill off rivals in order to win a large cash prize.

The popular reality game show will be returning next year for a third season, which has already been filmed.

Now Claudia will  return to the Scottish Highlands along with group of celebrity contestants for a highly anticipated celebrity version of The Traitors UK.

While the US has already run a celebrity version, this will be the UK’s first celebrity season.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment, said: “The Traitors has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year and the news of a fourth outing, alongside a brand new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level.

“It will once again be fascinating for our audiences to see who’ll outwit, outplay, and outlast. Let the mind games begin!”

News broke at the Edinburgh TV Festival, and the celebrity version has somewhat overshadowed the fourth season commission. Viewers have already begun to speculate which famous faces will be hiding under those hooded cloaks.

The line-up is yet to be confirmed, and we don’t have a broadcast date for the celebrity version or season 4. Regardless, fans have already made their own suggestions.
