‘The Hairy Bikers’ Final Cookbook Release Date
The pair began writing Our Family Favourites before Dave Myers sadly died earlier this year. Co-presenter Si King says he will be retiring The Hairy Bikers name after the duo’s final cookbook release.
Si King has completed the last ever The Hairy Bikers cookbook in honour of his cooking partner Dave Myers.
Our Family Favourites is a celebration of the food they loved to cook for themselves and their families. The book will contain 100 new recipes inspired by the duo’s 15 years of friendship and adventure together and it’s set for release later this year on October 24.
In his first interview with The Guardian since Dave Myers’ death, Si King announced that he won’t be using the Hairy Bikers name now his best friend is gone.
“There is no Hairy Bikers without Dave. It can’t be the Hairy Bikers 2.0,” he said. “That’s not going to happen. It wouldn’t be respectful.”
The television chef later added, “It’s definitely a time of change and change comes at a cost and that cost has been my best friend.”

Now on a sudden solo journey, when asked what’s next for him Si hesitated.
He said, “I’ve spent all my life from very young thinking about what other people want and what their needs and aspirations are. So to be presented at my age with the question of what you really want to do is very difficult. We were a partnership, a double act.”
The presenter continued, “Do I want to do more books? Yes, I do. Do I want to make more programmes? Yes, I do.
“It would be incredibly churlish not to say thank you to our fanbase. I sincerely hope that whatever I do next they come with me and we start another journey together.”
