So much exciting new television is hitting our screens this month! Make it through February with some of the best new TV shows everyone’s talking about.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Just like the movie which was a box office hit starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the synopsis remains the same.
Two lonely strangers land a job working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travels and a dream brownstone in Manhattan.
Starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, this version appears to be less sexually charged while being much bloodier and violent. In fact, Donald Glover has said he hopes this version will ‘shock’ viewers.
Available on Prime from February 2.
Trigger Point
Vicky McClure, Line of Duty, reunites with executive producer Jed Mercurio as officer Lana Washington in Trigger Point.
Lana deals with multiple terrorist threats in the heart of London in this high stakes thriller. Nearly two years after series one was aired, series two has just started.
One Day
You may remember the 2011 movie of the same name starring Anne Hathaway? Well this is 14 episodes of the same story.
Based on the best-selling novel One Day this romantic drama follows a relationship which grows and changes through the years, budding into romance.
We visit Dexter and Emma for one day of every year they’ve known each other, from the late ’80s to the early ’00s.
Spoilers if you’ve already seen the movie or read the book, but this possibly more modern take on the story is worth a watch.
Born From the Same Stranger
This four-part docu-series joins a group of people who were conceived by sperm donor donor as they choose to open a whole can of worms on the search for their biological father. Born From The Same Stranger sees brothers and sisters from the same sperm donor unite to track down anonymous donors who never imagined they could be found.
Under The Banner of Heaven
This true crime drama starring Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones is coming to ITV this month. The series was inspired by the true crime bestseller by Jon Krakauer, and follows the events that led to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her baby daughter in a suburb in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah. As Detective Jeb Pyre (Andrew Garfield) investigates the case, he uncovers the dark reality of the LDS religion and the violent consequences of extremist, unyielding faith.
All episodes from the series will be uploaded to ITVX February 26.
