This beloved series, which first aired back in 2013, returns for a ninth series. Shetland is a popular TV highlight for crime drama fans.

Shetland originally followed detective Jimmy Perez (Douglas Henshall) as he investigated complex crimes in the remote, close-knit Shetland Islands, uncovering secrets beneath picturesque landscapes. After Henshall’s departure from the show at the end of series seven, Ashley Jensen made her debut as the show’s new detective DI Ruth Calder, and she will be returning for the ninth series.

In the latest six-part instalment, a friend of Tosh’s (Alison O’Donnell) goes missing, and a chilling tale of disappearances spark a labyrinthine investigation for the detectives.
