Fly Me To The Moon

Who: Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum and Woody Harrelson

What: This quirky comedy is an elaborate portrayal of the faked moon landing conspiracy theory. Channing Tatum plays Cole Davis, a NASA director in charge of the Apollo 11 launch. Scarlett Johansson plays Kelly Jones, a marketing specialist brought in to “sell the moon” to boost waning support of the launch. It all goes too far when her boss (Woody Harrelson) commissions a “backup” staged launch. There’s even a cheeky nod to Stanley Kubrick who many conspiracy theorists believe filmed the fake moon landing.

The Present

Who: Isla Fisher, Ryan Guzman, Greg Kinnear

What: A old heirloom arrives at a fractured family home. The youngest child discovers he can use it to alter time.  Recruiting his older siblings they work together to reverse of their parent’s divorce by going back in time and changing key moments that led to the relationship breakdown.

A Family Affair

Who: Joey King, Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, Liza Koshy, and Kathy Bates

What: Looking for an easy-viewing summer rom-com? A Family Affair is perfect for you. This story follow Zara (Joey King), who’s furious with her mother (Nicole Kidman) for forming a relationship with her boss Chris Cole (Zac Efron) who is a famous actor. A serious of unfortunate and funny events unfold as Zara tries to deter her mother from pursuing him any further.

Hit Man

Who: Glen Powell and Adria Arjona

What: Professional hit man Gary Johnson (Glen Powell) breaks protocol by engaging in relations with someone involved in a situation he’s recruited to investigate. He ends up helping a desperate woman flee from her an abusive husband and falls in love with  her. However, not is all as it seems and he may have just helped the wrong person.

A Quiet Place: Day One

Who: Djimon Hounsou, Lupita Nyong’o, Denis O’Hare Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff

What: Things take a bit of a darker turn on our summer movie list. A Quiet Place was a box-office hit with two instalments, and this is the much-anticipated third release. A Quiet Place: Day One will open on the very first day of what becomes the silent apocalyptic world explored in the first two films. We start from the day the aliens invaded Earth and discover how humans had to adapt to survive.

Twisters

Who: Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sasha Lane, Brandon Perea, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, and Maura Tierney

What: Twisters is intended to be an updated version of the original 1996 film Twister, so hold on tight! The original movie followed a pair of storm chasers who risk their lives to test an experimental weather alert system. The update is similar. It centres around Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) who is a haunted by a previous traumatic tornado event, but when her friend suggests testing a ground-breaking new tracking system she returns to the storm chase. They meet Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), an impulsive social-media influencer who posts his storm-chasing adventures online – and this is where things take a turn for the worst.
