There are so many exciting UK television series’ hitting our screens this month! Get through the January slump with some of the best new TV shows everyone’s talking about.

 

Mr Bates vs The Post Office

Based on the true story of the Post Office scandal, this four-part drama follows the main protagonist, Alan Bates – one of more than 700 former sub-posters wrongfully accused of theft and fraud based on information from a faulty IT system. The re-telling of this major miscarriage of justice has brought many viewers to tears with how deeply this error destroyed the lives of those involved. Watch Mr Bates and his former colleagues take the Post Office to court.

Fool Me Once

Based on the thriller novel Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben, this creepy whodunnit tale follows a young, widowed woman who is haunted by the life and death of her late husband. Just two weeks after his funeral, he reappears alive and well in chilling nanny cam footage of her daughter’s bedroom. Our protagonist, Maya, is desperate for answers as to who is playing mind games with her and why. Enjoy a star studded cast including Michelle Keegan and Joanna Lumley.

The Traitors

Twenty-two strangers compete for a substantial cash prize in this reality TV series. Contestants undergo a set of challenges, however, the overall catch is that amongst the group are the ‘Traitors’, who meet in secret and decide who to sabotage and eliminate from their fellow players known as ‘Faithfuls’.Read more about The Traitors series 2!

Trigger Point

Vicky McClure, Line of Duty, reunites with executive producer Jed Mercurio as officer Lana Washington in Trigger Point. Lana deals with multiple terrorist threats in the heart of London in this high stakes thriller. Nearly two years after series one was aired, series two is coming to ITV in January.
