Cosy up this winter with a novel by beloved author, Katie Flynn!

Looking for a heartwarming book to get lost in as you sit sipping your hot drink by the crackling fire? Well, Sunday Times bestselling author Katie Flynn has just the book for you!

Katie Flynn is the pseudonym of Judy Turner, whose dozens of well-loved romantic historical fiction novels were inspired by her family’s recollections of life in Liverpool during the early twentieth century.
After selling more than 5  million of copies of her 47 bestselling novels, Judy passed away at the age of 82 on January 1, 2019. But her legacy lives on through her daughter, Holly, who worked as her assistant, and even co-authored novels like Christmas at Tuppenny Corner. Holly now writes new books under her mother’s pen name, often based on ideas they discussed.

In an interview with the website, Under the Christmas Tree, Holly says: “My mother’s last wish was for the Katie Flynn sagas to continue. So, I feel both honoured and privileged that I’ve been able to fulfil her wishes. Not only do I feel closer to my mother when I’m writing, but the novels help to keep her memory alive, something that’s important not only to me and my family, but for the thousands of fans who’ve bought her books from the beginning.” Now, Holly gives readers the festive follow-up to the Sunday Times bestseller The Rose Queen just in time for the holiday season!

In The Winter Rose, readers meet Cadi again, this time in Liverpool in 1941. The heroine is determined to enlist to aid the war after German bombs shattered the life that she built for herself in the city. Joining the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) also means she’d be closer to her beau – until Jez is sent thousands of miles from home.

While Jez is in Africa, someone from the past starts spreading vicious rumours that could threaten their
relationship, and Cadi finds herself torn between keeping secrets and telling the truth to protect those she holds dear.

Cadi has always believed that their love can weather any storm but as the snow sweeps in, she faces an
impossible choice. Will her decision leave her brokenhearted? Or will she and Jez be reunited in time for Christmas? It’s a story that’s packed with emotions and new characters who will feel like old friends such as Kitty.

Readers aren’t going to want to put the book down. In fact, Holly describes it as gripping, intoxicating, and empowering all at the same time. Holly says: “I loved writing The Winter Rose because it’s a fantastic example of how the smallest action can have such a massive impact on many people, changing their lives forever.”

Once they reach the last page, readers are bound to want to know what will happen to Cadi and Jez next.
But they won’t have to wait long for the last instalment in this successful trilogy. Holly, who lives with her family in the north-east of Wales, reveals she has already finished writing A Rose and a Promise where readers can follow the beloved characters through to the end of the war and beyond!

You can pick up your paperback copy of The Winter Rose in your local bookshop or supermarket starting October 27. The book will also be out on Kindle.
