Lemon Granita

Celebrity TV chef, Enzo Oliveri brings us his authentic recipe for the traditional Sicilian desert, Granita. Typically eaten for breakfast, granita is popular on the east-cost of Sicily, particularly in Messina. It also makes a refreshing dessert!

  1. Boil the litre of water and wait to cool in a jug. Slowly add the 1kg of sugar to the water, stirring continuously to create a syrup.
  2. Mix the lemon juice, 2 litres of water and syrup together in a container and put in the freezer.
  3. Stir the mixture every hour until flaky.
  4. Serve it in a glass with a brioche.
