Things are getting spooky over in the My Weekly office…
Are you set for ghosts, ghouls and all things that go bump in the night? Us ladies in the My Weekly office have been spoilt rotten with the delicious and fun goodies on offer in-stores, and online, this Halloween.
October 31 was once a bigger deal over in America, and simply restricted itself to a little harmless ‘guising’ here in the UK, however now, there’s no escaping the spooky season. Creepy costumes, ghoulish gifts and terrifying trick or treating is all part of the deal – and it’s not just for the grandkids, either!
We’re sure you’ve been inundated with samplings in store, decorations hanging everywhere and costumes to buy for the little ones but fear not…not even a little… we’ve rounded up some of the best bits about…
If cake is what you’re after, then look no further than your local supermarket – simple! Morrisons have the…. dare we say…cutest ‘bad’ Monster Celebration Cake for just £8, in-stores now. This soft and moist vanilla sponge cake is also filled with surprise orange sweeties, too!
Or, head to Asda and pick up their Petrifying Pumpkin Smash Cake, for just £10. This is a cracker, literally, as you smash and crack away at the chocolate orange shell to reveal sweeties and a beautiful chocolate sponge inside. Fab for parties!
Or for something a little more bite-size to sink your teeth into why not pick up a Mr Kipling’s treat. Choose from their Toffee Twirls, Fiendish Fancies or Choc & Slime Slices – or buy them all! From just £1!
If sweet’s not quite your treat though, then feed the whole family thanks to Lidl. We were balled over by their fab spooky tri-coloured pasta for just 99p! Or try they’re fabulously priced, novelty, beers and lagers to really get your party started! The Warlocks’ Broth is one of our faves. This spell-binding alcoholic drink is sweet, golden and not at all frightening! Only 99p for 500ml
Decorate your home with the help of Dobbies. Our fave garden centre never fails to disappoint with their extensive range of all things silly and spooky and at fab prices, too. We absolutely love the new Terracotta Pumpkin outdoor ornaments. These heavy-duty beauties come in an assortment of sizes and with different ‘faces’ to choose from, all priced starting from £9.99. Forget carving a pumpkin that won’t last – these are all the rage!
And finally, if the food and the decoration is sorted, you have to make sure you look the part, too. Visit www.morphsuits.co.uk if you fancy standing out from the crowd. You’ll find all sorts to choose from for the whole family, all at reasonable prices and fab quality.
Then, prep your spookiest face thanks to Hawkin’s Bazaar www.hawkin.com with the Ultimate Party Pack Face Painting Kit, £20. Packed with high quality colours and glittery gels, this is all your grandchildren will need to spook the neighbourhood.
Boo-tiful! Happy Halloween!
